The Florida Partnership for End of Life Care is committed to promoting effective and appropriate treatment for pain in terminally ill patients. Information for patients, families and health care professionals is available on several websites. The Partnership recommends the following websites as resources.
The American Academy of Pain Management www.aapainmanage.org is a good resource for pain patients looking for information about pain management and how to find a pain management professional. They also have a useful online community where pain patients can share insights and experiences.
Partners Against Pain www.partnersagainstpain.com has useful information for patients and caregivers, including opportunities for professional education.
The Mayday Pain Project www.painandhealth.org has useful links for patients suffering from pain specific to various diseases. There is also a useful link to continuing education opportunities for health care professionals.
Growth House, Inc. www.growthhouse.org/pain.html offers basic easy to understand information for pain patients and their families, with a easy to use list of pain management resources.
The American Pain Society www.ampainsoc.org has useful information for health care providers.
The monthly publication of the Florida Department of
Elder Affairs, Elder Update, recently featured an article
series on End of Life Care through the collaborated
efforts of the Florida Partnership. The Florida Partnership
for End of Life Care requests that any reprints provide
